Purpose and Philosophy
We encourage group members to take responsibility for their own spiritual development, practice, and healing.
The central purpose of these spiritual groups is to recognize the oneness of all being. We seek to help each member rediscover the inter-connected web of life. We seek to help each member connect to himself, his community, the stars, the earth, animals, trees, spiritual beings, etc. We seek to connect to our own magic, power and creativity in order to heal ourselves and others. This is a group for spiritual seekers, not a psychotherapy group. We acknowledge our members' real need for healing, and suggest that participation in other healing communities is essential.
In these groups, we seek to learn:
- to feel the power within
- to feel the powers without
- to discover altered states of consciousness
- to center at will
- to align with divine energy
- the power of personal and collective ritual
- to protect and shield ourselves
- our true name and true voice
- To find and connect to animal totems, spirit guides, cathonic archetypes, faery guides and otherworld beings and healers
- the sacred tree ogham
- the moons and their associations
Following the philosophy and practices of the earth-based and western mysteries traditions, inner planes or levels of consciousness are real and exist within and beyond the limitations of this world that is defined by matter, time and space. The shamanic groups follow the philosophy, precepts, practices and initiations of the Hermetic Alchemical Inner Mysteries Traditions and earth-based traditions. Our work flows from earth-based traditions, but is not limited to one approach. We focus on the particular spiritual needs of the participants, for example, in such areas as healing of anger and trauma around religious issues, re-awakening a participatory, holistic spirituality in which each person is a vital part, not a spectator. We accept everyone's need to explore freely and with personal freedom and in unique ways.
Our goal in a beginning group is to provide a safe collective supportive environment in which to explore a wide variety of spiritual beliefs and methods (some very foreign to modern western thought) and to come to your own unique discoveries of truth and your way. You have permission to accept, reject and question as you wish. You do not have permission to judge.
